I love Jimmy Carter. Who wouldn't? He is the best former President of my lifetime. BUT, he isn't perfect, and he made mistakes, 'cause here's a whopper of one - but I don't hear the media BLASTING away at him as they would if this were a Republican... As I stood on my porch this morning having a cigarette, because I refuse to smoke inside - trying to quit - I had an unusually calming sense of contentment, which I have not felt in a couple of years - not since my husband, scratch that - former husband - left. I finally have my own home, I have a view of the lake, and the geese were crossing the street with their 11 babies, I have the day off, my birthday is Friday, and I'm just plain happy! Oddly enough, though, I've been divorced over a year, and separated nearly two years before that, and I still find myself referring to him as my husband. Go figure!
