Fact Checking the Debates

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have non-biased, non-partisan journalists or historians fact checking the debates that are coming up?

It's so sad to hear all the lies that are being told. Unfortunately, when the truth comes out, it only makes its way to the major news outlets if it was a really big lie.

Meanwhile, numerous little white lies are floating to the ground like snowflakes, prettying up the minds of those who want to believe them.

Let's try to do something about it!

There is a petition that calls for fact checking the debates...

Voters must know what is true before they can make decisions that are in their own best interest and that of our country.   It would be best if the fact checking is done during the commercials and then before the next round of debates, the fact-checkers' findings could be read without comment.  This would be much more powerful than reading about it in the newspapers the next day.

That's why I signed a petition to Commission on Presidential Debates and the major TV networks, which says:

"Have unbiased fact checkers at the presidential and vice presidential debates so that voters can base their decisions on facts rather than rhetoric."

One War is One Too Many

I don't know who this young man is or where he is from, but when I look at this photo
I just want to hug him and take him to his home - just snatch him right out of there.

Opinions on war have never been more important than they are right now -
during this American presidential election year.

Mitt Romney has stated that:
"Ever since FDR we've had the capacity to be engaged in two conflicts at once and [President Obama] said no, we're going to cut that back to only one conflict,"

Clearly, more wars is not what the American people want.
Clearly, war is not what other nations want.
Clearly, President Obama is the safest choice.

Please my American brothers and sisters,
make sure you are registered to vote,
and then exercise your right to do so.
