Miracle Money

In light of my last post, it is only befitting that I share my experience of receiving a miracle of several hundred dollars, which has almost enabled me to be caught up on my bills.

God does provide, when we least expect it, and sometimes when we have lost hope and just given in to the possibility of living on the street, or in the car, which is without insurance, but nonetheless a type of shelter.

Yes, that is sometimes when God will step in and speak to another's heart to give money so that your need is not as great.

Praise God for His blessings, and for those souls who allow Him to use them as blessings. I pray that I never forget, and that I will also be used by Him to bless others as my bounty increases.

Have a great and prosperous day!!

Why not ME?

Can you believe that could be worth around $15 billion within three years, measured in terms of the value created for shareholders of its parent company, News Corp.

MySpace was acquired by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. for $580 million less than a year ago. It now boasts more than 90 million active users.

Wow, this Tom person sure hit the jackpot! And so have others who have used MySpace to come up with their own product.

Example: Josh Abramson, co-founder of Connected Ventures, has sold more than 610 $18 shirts in six weeks that take advantage of what is becoming quite a public in-joke. The shirts read, "Tom is NOT my friend." In case you didn't know, everyone who joins MySpace automatically receives the creator "Tom" as a friend. But he can be removed from the friend list any time.

And what about CraigsList with 10 million monthly users, and four billion page views per month?

Why oh why can't I come up with a huge money maker like that???

A daily dose of vitamins could help those suffering from osteoporosis. It is thought that homocysteine, along with lack of calcium and vitamin d, causes osteoporosis.

Latest research shows that vitamins B12 and folate, or folic acid, can lower homocysteine levels. Research shows that stroke patients using B12 and folate had a five times lower risk of fracture compared to those using a placebo. But they had to exercise too to strengthen their bones. The dose of vitamin B12 they used in the study that was shown to be effective was 1500 micrograms by mouth daily. The dose of folic acid was 5 milligrams daily.

Every Woman Should Know and Have

A set of screwdrivers,
a cordless drill,
and a black lace bra.

One friend who
always makes her
laugh...and one
who lets her cry.

A good piece of furniture
not previously owned by
anyone else in her family.

Eight matching plates,
wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal that will
make her guests feel honored.

A feeling of control over
her destiny.

How to fall in love
without losing herself.

How to quit a job.
How to break up with a lover and
confront a friend without ruining the friendhip.

When to try harder and
when to walk away.

That she can't change
the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or
the nature of her parents.

That her childhood may not have been perfect
but; it's over.

What she would…

Flirts? or Perverts?!?

You know, I love Yahoo's instant messenger. It helps me keep in touch with members of my company team, meet new prospects, and chat with friends.

But lately, this week especially, I can't get much done for all the men (I guess they're men) wanting to talk, men I don't know, men who haven't even bothered to complete their profile, and men who within the first couple of lines want you to view their webcam!

I even created my own line to show by my name when I'm available which says...

But it doesn't work.

So, now I just click ignore if there is no profile.

I could use the stealth mode, but some of my new business friends need a little help now and then, and so I want to be available to them.

Honestly, what is the world becoming?

What happened to integrity, character, dignity, and ethics?

What happened to the sacrament of sanctified intimacy?

Is there no shame - no conscience - no spiritual beings within these perverted human shells?

Stem Cell Research

This latest propaganda on stem cell research is just too much. Why do Americans, for the most part, believe everything they hear on TV?

Facts - there are now nearly 400,000 frozen embryos available for research.

Problem - many of these aren't considered to be primo because of some experimentation with mice, etc, etc.

Fact - stem cells can be harvested from many sources, not just embryos.

Fact - the embryo must be living in order to retrieve the stem cells which then KILLS the embryo.

Picture this - your child has a fatal disease which can only be cured by harvesting the stem cells from a sibling embryo. Will you get pregnant just to harvest these cells? Will you kill one child to save another?

It's that simple.

It's wrong.

Stem cell research is good, but it's been going on since the 1980s with no conclusive results, and no advancements made that can help anyone.

We are putting the cart lightyears ahead of the horse.

This is not even a topic worth debating - yet.

Never Argue with a Woman

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.

Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")
"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment.…

Happy Birthday to Me!

It was cylindrical, 10 meters long, 5 meters high, with a canopy on top. It flew away and was lost to sight behind some trees. Jimmy Carter

I love Jimmy Carter. Who wouldn't?

He is the best former President of my lifetime.

BUT, he isn't perfect, and he made mistakes, 'cause here's a whopper of one - but I don't hear the media BLASTING away at him as they would if this were a Republican...

Seaspook's Rants: Liberal Hypocrisy: "Former President Jimmy Carter's center in Atlanta received more than $1 million from the family of Osama bin Laden, according to an investigative report.

A brother of the al-Qaida terrorist leader, Bakr M. bin Laden, funneled the money to the Carter Center in Atlanta through the Saudi Bin Laden Group, according to Melanie Morgan, chairman of a group opposing the Georgia Democrat called the Censure Carter Committee.

On my way...

As I stood on my porch this morning having a cigarette, because I refuse to smoke inside - trying to quit - I had an unusually calming sense of contentment, which I have not felt in a couple of years - not since my husband, scratch that - former husband - left. I finally have my own home, I have a view of the lake, and the geese were crossing the street with their 11 babies, I have the day off, my birthday is Friday, and I'm just plain happy!

Oddly enough, though, I've been divorced over a year, and separated nearly two years before that, and I still find myself referring to him as my husband. Go figure!
